It's a short road ride from the parking area to and from the trail at the Petroleum Center trail head

There are a couple shelters along the trail to take cover in when necessary

At about the midpoint of the trail is a picnic area with outhouse facilities.  There is also access to hiking trails here, one of which goes to an overlook

The hike to the overlook is at least a half mile of steep switch backs
